How to Lose Liver Fat Fast

How to Lose Liver Fat Fast

What causes liver fat?

There are not any specific causes of liver fat that can be proven by research thus far.  Liver fat has been traced in many individuals who are obese, have an illness like tuberculosis, or consume a great deal of alcohol.  Individuals with high triglyceride levels or diabetes are also at risk of developing liver fat.  The use of certain drugs and malnourishment have also been related to the development of liver fat.  That is why it is very important to have a doctor keep an eye on the situation if it develops.
If the condition is not caused by alcohol use, it is sometimes called Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD).  Doctors should examine the liver to make sure that a more serious condition, like cirrhosis of the liver, has occurred.

How do I lose liver fat?

There aren't any medical treatments at this time that will remove fat directly from the liver, but there are other things that you can do to improve your condition.  You might need to get an intestinal bypass if you are obese and the situation is critical.  A majority of cases do not require this.
A diet and exercise program to help you lose liver fat.  You should lower triglycerides in your diet, as well as your alcohol intake.  You might even consider going alcohol-free.  Make sure that you focus on getting fruits and vegetables in balance with other things in your diet.  Cut back on sweets, especially if you have or are at risk of developing diabetes.  Reduce your overall calorie intake, but make sure that you are still getting the proper nutrition.  You should not lose more than one or two pounds within a single week.  Losing weight at a faster pace than this can cause other problems in your body.  You should also drink several glasses of water each day to keep your system hydrated and flushed.
Walking, jogging, biking, and swimming are activities that you can do outdoors, or indoors.  You can walk or jog on a treadmill and use a stationary bike inside, or do these things around the neighborhood or at a park.  You can swim in a pool outdoors, or inside a heating indoor pool.  These activities are not only fun, but they are a great source of exercise.  Doing these types of things three to five times a week will increase you metabolism tremendously and help you to lose liver fat.  Getting a gym membership is a great idea, and you can join with a friend to make it more fun.
You can also lose liver fat by strengthening and toning your muscles.  Lifting weights, like dumbbells, barbells, wrist weights, and ankle weights, can help you to tone your muscles.  By developing your muscles, you will increase your metabolism.  The toned muscle there is on your body, the faster your metabolism will be.  A faster metabolism is the key to losing liver fat.  You do not have to life extremely heavy weights in order to do this.  You can simply use light weights that are not too difficult for you to lift, and repeat the lifting actions for several sets.  If you use weight lifting machines, you should bring a friend or trainer along to spot you.
